Reviving Your Oven Rack

Procedure:

Prepare the Bag: Start by grabbing a large trash bag that can accommodate the oven rack. Ensure the bag is clean and free of holes.
Prepare the Cleaning Solution: If you have a dishwasher detergent tablet, great! If not, regular washing detergent will suffice. Place the tablet or detergent into a container. Heat some water and pour it into the container to dissolve the tablet. Make sure the water is not boiling to avoid damaging the bag. Use a fork to help dissolve the tablet if needed.
Add Baking Soda: Once the detergent is dissolved, add three to four teaspoons of baking soda to the mixture. This will create a powerful cleaning solution to tackle even the toughest grease.
Fill the Bag: Pour the cleaning solution into the trash bag. Be cautious not to make the solution too thick, as it may puncture the bag.
Seal the Bag Securely: Once the bag is filled with the cleaning solution, seal it securely to prevent any spills.
Soak the Oven Rack: Lay the bag flat on a level surface and place the oven rack inside. Allow it to soak in the cleaning solution for at least two hours. For heavily soiled racks, consider leaving it overnight.
Rinse and Dry: After the soaking period, carefully remove the oven rack from the bag. Rinse it thoroughly under running water to remove any residue. You’ll be surprised how easily the grime comes off without the need for scrubbing. Once cleaned, dry the rack before putting it back into the oven.
By following this simple method, you can revive your oven rack and make it look as good as new without the hassle of scrubbing or using harsh chemicals.
