Clean your stove burners with this secret Japanese technique

  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  • The juice of a lemon
  • 3 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid
  • 50 ml of white vinegar
  • 1 liter of very hot water

As for equipment, simply provide a heat-resistant salad bowl or basin, a sponge or small soft brush, and household gloves or tongs to handle the burners.

How to prepare a cleansing bath

  1. Start by removing the burners from the stove and placing them in the container.
  2. Sprinkle baking soda over their entire surface.
  3. Next, pour in the lemon juice, then gradually add the white vinegar: a slight effervescence appears, a sign that the cleaning reaction is starting.
  4. Stir in the dishwashing liquid, then carefully pour in the hot water until the burners are completely covered.
  5. Simply let it  work its magic. Let the burners soak for 20 to 30 minutes. If the buildup is old or very heavy, you can extend it to 40 minutes. During this time, the mixture works  deep down , without you needing to do anything.
  6. The final cleaning, done gently:  once the time is up, remove the burners using gloves or tongs. Simply wipe them with a sponge or soft brush: the dirt will come off almost by itself. Rinse with clean water, then dry thoroughly with a clean cloth before replacing them.
